Today the Academic Staff Association of the University of Macau publishes a report on the Academic Track Assignment Survey it conducted among UM academic staff during May 2015. In all, 178 academic staff, or roughly between one-quarter and one-third of all UM academic staff, responded and answered the survey which focusses on attitudes toward the academic track system, its implementation, perceived appropriateness and transparency, and effect on morale.

On 17 March 2016, 36 members of our Association gathered at the Fortune Inn restaurant on campus to hold the Annual General Meeting for the year 2016. The meeting was run by the Presidium of the General Assembly, a new body elected in the previous year as required by the Macau government. At the meeting the Executive Committee presented reports of its work during the past year. Among these, noteworthy items were the completion of a report on the academic track system, progress in the government registration of the revised constitution of the Association, and the successful fund-raising from two corporate sponsors. As the 2-year term of the Executive Committee was ending, a new Executive Committee consisting of seven members was elected, namely Wang Jianwei (FSS) as President, Gordon Kerr (FBA) as Vice-President, and Joann Chan (FBA), Chen Guokai (FHS), Chu Caixia (RC), Jiang Chunlian (FED) and Wang Ruibing (ICMS).
